Iran. Stephen Boyd (Benson), verdeckter Rauschgiftermittler der USA, versucht, dem Stammesoberen Hugh Griffith (Salah Rahman Khan) die gesamte Opiumernte zu einem besseren Preis abzukaufen. Doch er gerät in die Hände der bisherigen Käufer und gilt als tot. Die Vereinten Nationen schicken Trevor Howard (Lincoln) und E.G. Marshall (Jones) an Ort und Stelle. Es gelingt ihnen, eine Ladung Opium radioaktiv zu markieren, um ihre Vertriebskanäle verfolgen zu können. Sie verlieren die Spur, doch die neapolitanische Polizei nimmt sie auf – über den Nudelfabrikanten  (Salvatore Braggi) führt die maritime Spur schließlich zum Genfer Playboy Gilbert Roland (Serge Marco), auf dessen Yacht Howard getötet wird. Marshall stellt Roland im « Train Bleu » von Nizza nach Paris und kann ihn unschädlich machen.

Eine Goodwill Aktion der UN : Vom Stoff her so angelegt, daß für viele Stars kleine Rollen anfallen, die für einen Dollar Gage gespielt wurden. Jedoch ist der Habitus nicht der realen Bedrohung des Menschen durch Rauschgift zugewandt – die kommt nur in marginalen Ausschnitten vor, sondern einem bürgerlichen Kriminaldrama, das behäbig wirkt und stark den 1960ern verhaftet ist. Selbst der Iran präsentiert sich in bürgerlich westlichem Gewand.

Salem), Eli Wallach (Locarno), Senta Berger (Nachtclubtänzerin), Marcello Mastroianni (Inspektor Mosca), Amedeo Nazarri (Kapitän Dinonno), Omar Sharif (Dr. Rad), Nadja Tiller (Dr. Bronowska),  Jack Hawkins (General Bahar), Trini Lopez (Trini Lopez).

Iran. Stephen Boyd (Benson), an undercover narcotics agent for the USA, tries to buy the entire opium crop from tribal chief Hugh Griffith (Salah Rahman Khan) at a better price. But he falls into the hands of the previous buyers and is presumed dead. The United Nations sends Trevor Howard (Lincoln) and E.G. Marshall (Jones) to the scene. They manage to radioactively tag a shipment of opium to trace its distribution channels. They lose the trail, but the Neapolitan police pick it up – via the pasta manufacturer (Salvatore Braggi), the maritime trail finally leads to the Geneva playboy Gilbert Roland (Serge Marco), on whose yacht Howard is killed. Marshall confronts Roland on the “ Train Bleu “ from Nice to Paris and is able to render him harmless.

A goodwill action of the UN : In terms of the material, it is designed to give small roles to many stars, played for a dollar’s fee. However, the habitus is not turned towards the real threat posed to mankind by narcotics – which only occurs in marginal excerpts – but towards a bourgeois crime drama that appears ponderous and is strongly rooted in the 1960s. Even Iran is presented in bourgeois Western garb.
