Das perfekte Geheimnis

München. Die Therapeutin Jessica Schwarz (Eva) und ihr Mann, Chirurg Wotan Wilke Möhring (Rocco) haben zum Abendessen Gäste. Karoline Herfurth (Carlotta) und Elyas M’Barek (Leo), ferner frischverliebt Jella Haase (Bianca) und Frederick Lau (Simon). Lehrer Florian David Fitz (Pepe) ist ohne Freundin gekommen. Schwarz schlägt beim Essen ein Spiel vor: Jeder muss alle Ein- und Ausgänge seines Smartphones öffentlich mit allen teilen. Im Lauf des Abends stellt sich so heraus: M’Barek hat eine Affäre mit einer Spielplatzbekanntschaft; Fitz ist homosexuell; Herfurth nimmt Drogen; Lau hat eine Freundin, die von ihm schwanger ist. Einiges bleibt verborgen. Sofort, oder etwas später, versöhnen sich die meisten.

Was ein fehlgeleiteter Telefonanruf bewirken kann, wissen wir aus de Palmas „Fegefeuer der Eitelkeiten“ (Bonfire of the Vanities, 1990). Das war Drama. Hier treffen sich ein paar Yuppies, die meisten von mässiger Intelligenz, und spielen ein voyeuristisches Spielchen. Dabei erfahren wir über sie, was uns nicht so interessiert. Ab und zu ein Scherzchen, das wars vom Dialog. Remake des italienischen Films „Perfetto Sconosciuti“, 2016, R: Paolo Genovese.

Karoline Herfurth (Carlotta) and Elyas M’Barek (Leo), also newly in love Jella Haase (Bianca) and Frederick Lau (Simon). Teacher Florian David Fitz (Pepe) came without a girlfriend. Schwarz suggests a game during dinner: Everyone has to share all entrances and exits of their smartphone publicly with everyone else. In the course of the evening it turns out that: M’Barek has an affair with a playground acquaintance; Fitz is gay; Herfurth takes drugs; Lau has a girlfriend who is pregnant by him. Some things remain hidden. Immediately, or a little later, most of them reconcile.

We know what a misdirected phone call can do from de Palma’s „Bonfire of the Vanities”, 1990. That was drama. A few yuppies, most of them of moderate intelligence, meet here and play a voyeuristic game. In the process, we learn about them what we are not so interested in.
