Mr. Moto und sein Lockvogel

Ägypten. Der Archäologe John King (Howard Stevens) entdeckt die Krone der Königin von Saba. Peter Lorre (Mr. Moto), als Wiener Archäologe getarnt, ist dabei. Auf der Reise nach San Francisco fliegt seine zweite Tarnung als japanischer Tourist auf. Auf dem Transport ins Freemont Museum wird die Krone fast gestohlen, und mehrere Gruppen von Gaunern lauern darauf, sie dem Museum zu entwenden. Lorre ist jedoch hauptsächlich daran interessiert, den angeblich toten Starräuber (Metaxa) zu fassen. Er wehrt etliche Angriffe auf sich ab; endlich entlarvt er Joseph Schildraut (Hendrik Manderson), der als Mäzen die Expedition nach Ägypten finanziert hatte, als (Metaxa).

Der letzte Film, der mit Lorre als Moto in die Kinos kam. Nicht der stärkste, die Story setzt auf Verwirrung, Moto steht oft nur lächelnd da, und Ort und Zeit der Handlung scheinen beliebig.

Egypt. Archaeologist John King (Howard Stevens) discovers the crown of the Queen of Sheba. Peter Lorre (Mr. Moto), disguised as a Viennese archaeologist, is there. On the trip to San Francisco, his second disguise as a Japanese tourist is blown. In transit to the Fremont Museum, the crown is nearly stolen, and several groups of crooks lie in wait to steal it from the museum. However, Lorre is mainly interested in catching the supposedly dead star robber (Metaxa). He fends off several attacks on him; at last he exposes Joseph Schildraut (Hendrik Manderson), who as a patron had financed the expedition to Egypt, as (Metaxa).

The last film to be released with Lorre as Moto. Not the strongest, the story relies on confusion, Moto often just stands there smiling, and the place and time of the action seem arbitrary.
