Lichter des Varieté

Carla Del Poggio (Liliana Antonelli), Provinzmädchen mit künstlerischen Ambitionen, schließt sich einer Truppe von Varietékünstlern mit dem nicht mehr ganz jungen Peppino de Filippo (Checco Dal Monte) an, der ihretwegen seine Braut Giulietta Masina (Melina Amour) vergißt. Ihretwegen hat auch die Truppe Erfolg, aber Del Poggio erhält von Impresario Folco Lulli (Adelmo Conti) ein Engagement an die Scala-Revue nach Mailand und läßt sich die Konventionalstrafe bezahlen. Am Bahnhof löst sie erster Klasse nach Mailand, der Rest der Truppe dritter Klasse Provinz.

Ein Werk des jungen Fellini: interessant, aber nicht so geschlossen in der Darstellung wie spätere Werke.

Carla Del Poggio (Liliana Antonelli), a provincial girl with artistic ambitions, joins a troupe of variety performers led by the no-longer-young Peppino de Filippo (Checco Dal Monte), who, because of her, forgets his fiancée Giulietta Masina (Melina Amour). Thanks to her, the troupe also enjoys success, but Del Poggio receives an engagement from impresario Folco Lulli (Adelmo Conti) at the Scala Revue in Milan and has her penalty clause paid out. At the station, she boards a first-class train to Milan, whilst the rest of the troupe take a third-class provincial train.

A work by the young Fellini: interesting, but not as cohesive in its presentation as his later works.
