In den Krallen der Venus

1985. Die Weltraumpiloten Eric Fleming (Cpt. Neil Patterson), Patrick Waltz (Lt. Larry Turner) und Dave Willock (Lt. Michael Cruze) erhalten den Auftrag, Paul Birch (Professor Conrad) zur Raumstation A in 10.000 Meilen Höhe zu fliegen, weil dort Ungewöhnliches geschehe. Noch vor der Ankunft wird die Station durch Strahlen zerstört, das Raumschiff gerät außer Kontrolle und landet auf einem Planeten, der sich als Venus entpuppt. Dort werden sie von Frauen gefangen genommen, die sie zu ihrer Königin Laurie Mitchell (Yllana) bringen. Die hat alle Männer in eine Strafkolonie verbannt, trägt stets eine Maske und befürchtet, die Eindringlinge seien die Vorhut eines irdischen Angriffs. Sie verurteilt sie zum Tode. Ihre Chef-Wissenschaftlerin Zsa Zsa Gabor (Talleah) konterkariert sie und führt eine Gruppe von Frauen, die der Königin müde sind. Die Männer fliehen, werden wieder gefangen genommen, aber der Versuch Mitchells, die Erde zu zerstören, wie sie die Raumstation zerstört hat, scheitert. Sie stirbt. Die Männer erhalten von der Erde Order, noch bis zur Abholung auf der Venus zu bleiben, wo sie nun Liebe finden.

Eine Art Billig-Prequel zu den „Frauen von Stepford“: Die Piloten sind sämtlich Machos, die Frauen in biederster Exotik benutzen Haarspray, den man förmlich riecht. Nicht einmal unfreiwillig komisch, nicht spannend, nur kurios und farbenfroh.

1985: Space pilots Eric Fleming (Cpt. Neil Patterson), Patrick Waltz (Lt. Larry Turner) and Dave Willock (Lt. Michael Cruze) are ordered to fly Paul Birch (Professor Conrad) to Space Station A at an altitude of 10,000 miles because something unusual is happening there. Before they arrive, the station is destroyed by radiation, the spaceship goes out of control and lands on a planet that turns out to be Venus. There they are captured by women who take them to their queen Laurie Mitchell (Yllana). She has banished all the men to a penal colony, always wears a mask and fears the intruders are the vanguard of an earthly attack. She sentences them to death. Her chief scientist Zsa Zsa Gabor (Talleah) counters her and leads a group of women who are tired of the Queen.  The men escape, are recaptured, but Mitchell’s attempt to destroy Earth as she destroyed the space station fails. She dies. The men are ordered by Earth to stay on Venus until they are picked up, where they now find love.

A kind of cheap prequel to the “ Wives of Stepford“: The pilots are all macho, the women in the most bland exoticism use hairspray that you can literally smell. Not even unintentionally funny, not exciting, just curious and colourful.
