Highlander – Es kann nur einen geben

New York 1985. Antiquitätenhändler Christopher Lambert (Conner McLeod) enthauptet in der Parkgarage des Madison Square Garden einen Angreifer mit dem Schwert. Rückblende ins Schottland des Jahres 1536: Lambert gehört zu einer Gruppe Unsterblicher, was er durch den uralten Sean Connery (Juan Ramirez) erfährt. Die Gruppe kann keine Kinder haben – wer dereinst den Endkampf überlebt (eine Tötung durch ihresgleichen ist möglich), wird ein normaler Mensch werden. Der böse Unsterbliche Clancy Brown (Kurgan), der schon Connery getötet hat, fordert, nachdem er Lamberts Freundin Roxanne Hart (Brenda Wyatt) entführt hat, Lambert zum Duell. Lambert gewinnt.

Jede Szene ein Effekt – professionell gemacht, aber ermüdend. Ein Mix von alt und neu, mit Anflügen von Humor und viel zu aufgeregt, um echte Fantasy zu sein.

New York 1985: Antiques dealer Christopher Lambert (Conner McLeod) decapitates an attacker with a sword in the parking garage of Madison Square Garden. Flashback to Scotland in 1536: Lambert belongs to a group of immortals, which he learns through the ancient Sean Connery (Juan Ramirez). The group cannot have children – whoever survives the final battle (a killing by their own kind is possible) will become a normal human being. The evil immortal Clancy Brown (Kurgan), who has already killed Connery, after kidnapping Lambert’s girlfriend Roxanne Hart (Brenda Wyatt), challenges Lambert to a duel. Lambert wins.

Every scene an effect – professionally done but tedious. A mix of old and new, with touches of humour and far too excited to be real fantasy.
