Geheimzentrale Lissabon

Lissabon. Als die Behörden versagt hatten, und zwei Jahre nach der Entführung von US-Millionär Percy Marmont (Lloyd Merrill), hat dessen Ehefrau Maureen O’Hara (Sylvia) den Salon-Gauner Claude Rains (Aristides Mavros) um Hilfe gebeten. Der bringt sie auf die Idee, Marmont zu beseitigen und zu beerben; da O’Hara sich in den Abenteurer Ray Milland (Robert John Evans) verliebt hat, stimmt sie zu. Milland mag O’Hara. Als er von dem Plan erfährt, rettet er Marmont und wendet sich seiner zweiten Liebe, der Rains-Freundin Yvonne Furnaux (Maria Maddalena Masanet) zu.

Einfache Liebesgeschichte, aber weder süßlich noch langweilig. Lissabon spielt kaum mit, und alle Hintergründe der Entführung bleiben offen.

Lisbon. When the authorities failed, and two years after the kidnapping of US millionaire Percy Marmont (Lloyd Merrill), his wife Maureen O’Hara (Sylvia) has asked saloon crook Claude Rains (Aristides Mavros) for help. He gives her the idea of getting rid of Marmont and inheriting his estate; since O’Hara has fallen in love with the adventurer Ray Milland (Robert John Evans), she agrees. Milland likes O’Hara. When he learns of the plan, he rescues Marmont and turns to his second love, Rains‘ girlfriend Yvonne Furnaux (Maria Maddalena Masanet).

Simple love story, but neither saccharine nor boring. Lisbon hardly plays a part and all the background to the kidnapping remains open.
