Gefährten des Grauens

Stewart Granger (Jules Vincent) hat in Not Howard Petrie (Brody) im Kanu in den Stromschnellen erschossen und sich aus Furcht in die winterlichen kanadischen Berge zurückgezogen. Dort stöbert ihn Konstabler Wendell Corey (Pedley) auf, aber in winterlichen Abenteuern bringt Granger den Konstabler zurück und nicht umgekehrt.

Lakonisch. Trotz des sparsamen Ansco-Color-Systems wird die Landschaft wirksam und die Kargheit der Trapper noch wirksamer ins Bild setzt. Sehenswert und auf seine Art fast meisterlich.

Stewart Granger (Jules Vincent), in distress, has shot Howard Petrie (Brody) in a canoe on the rapids and, in fear, has retreated to the wintry Canadian mountains. There Constable Wendell Corey (Pedley) tracks him down, but in wintry adventures Granger brings the Constable back, not the other way around.

Laconic. Despite the sparse Ansco colour system, the landscape is rendered effectively and the barrenness of the trappers even more effectively into the picture. Worth seeing and almost masterful in its own way.
