Frühlingssinfonie

Leipzig ca. 1828 bis 1838. Jurastudent Herbert Grönemeyer (Robert Schumann) trifft den Musiklehrer Rolf Hoppe (Friedrich Wieck), wird Komponist, verliebt sich in Hoppes Tochter Nastassja Kinski (Clara Wieck), die als Pianistin bereits einen guten Namen hat. Hoppe ist gegen die Verbinduung, vor Gericht wird die Heirat erzwungen.

Alles gediegen: Ausstattung, Inszene, Musik, Farbe (leicht rötlich betont), wohl gut recherchiert. Aber alle Figuren bis auf Hoppe bleiben blass.

Mit Edda Seippel (Mutter Schumann), André Heller (Felix Mendelssohn), Gidon Kremer (Niccolo Paganini), Bernhard Wicki (Baron von Fricken).

Law student Herbert Grönemeyer (Robert Schumann) meets music teacher Rolf Hoppe (Friedrich Wieck), becomes a composer, and falls in love with Hoppe’s daughter Nastassja Kinski (Clara Wieck), who already has a good reputation as a pianist. Hoppe is opposed to the relationship, but the marriage is enforced by the courts.

Everything is of high quality: the set design, staging, music and colour palette (with a slight reddish tinge), and it appears to be well researched. Yet all the characters, with the exception of Hoppe, remain rather one-dimensional.
