Die Töchter ihrer Exzellenz

Wien 1934. Die Generalswitwe Hansi Niese (Henriette von Petrin) hat eine kleine Tabaktrafik und zwei Töchter. Dagny Servaes (Leonie) hat den biederen Sparfuchs Hans Moser (Anton) zum Mann, Käthe von Nagy (Gerti) kommt mit glänzend bestandener Matura zurück. Sie ist entsetzt, als ihre Schwester mit dem alten Gustav Waldau (Graf Conrad Marenzi, Vater) nach Capri reisen will. Sie will Waldau von ihr ablenken, verwechselt ihn aber mit dessen Sohn Willy Fritsch (Graf Conrad Marenzi), den sie mit allen Mitteln angeht. Dennoch findet die Capri-Reise nicht statt: Servaes erfährt in letzter Minute, daß Waldau dort komfortfrei gemietet hat und seine Pantoffeln wesentliches Gepäck sind. Fritsch und Nagy erliegen jedoch dem Charme des jeweils anderen.

Der Journalist und Politwissenschaftler Burri hat Wiener Verhältnisse in ein komödiantisches Gewand gekleidet,  verkappte Armut und soziale Verwerfungen. Hugo Bettauer kommt einem in den Sinn, der von einem Zahntechniker erschossen wurde, worauf Burri dezent anspielt, denn der Anruf eines Zahntechnikers wird von der Hilfe Lizzi Holzschuh (Mizzy) permanent erwartet. Nagy brilliert in einer Parforce-Tour. Eine Komödie, aber schwere Kost.

Mit Adele Sandrock (Gräfin Virginia Marenzi), Fritz Imhoff (Toniczek, Pelzhändler), Ewald Wenck (Kontrolleur der Behörde), Julius Brandt (Diener Leopold).

Vienna 1934: The widow general Hansi Niese (Henriette von Petrin) has a small tobacconist’s shop and two daughters. Dagny Servaes (Leonie) has the bourgeois thrifty Hans Moser (Anton) for a husband, Käthe von Nagy (Gerti) returns with a brilliant A-levels certificate. She is horrified when her sister wants to travel to Capri with old Gustav Waldau (Count Conrad Marenzi, father). She wants to distract Waldau from her, but mistakes him for his son Willy Fritsch (Count Conrad Marenzi), whom she attacks by any means necessary. Nevertheless, the trip to Capri does not take place: Servaes learns at the last minute that Waldau has rented comfort-free accommodation there and that his slippers are essential luggage. However, Fritsch and Nagy succumb to each other’s charms.

The journalist and political scientist Burri has clothed Viennese conditions in a comedic guise, disguising poverty and social upheaval. Hugo Bettauer comes to mind, who was shot by a dental technician, to which Burri subtly alludes, as the call from a dental technician is constantly expected by the help Lizzi Holzschuh (Mizzy). Nagy shines in a par force tour. A comedy, but heavy fare.
