Die Lady in Zement

Miami. Privatdetektiv Frank Sinatra (Tony Rome) entdeckt beim Tauchen die Leiche von Christine Todd (Sandra Lomax) und klärt im Auftrag von Dan Blocker (Gronsky) ihre Identität (es ist dessen Ex-Freundin). Todds Zimmergefährtin Lainie Kazan (Maria Baretto) und deren Chef Frank Raiter (Danny Yale) werden ebenfalls ermordet. Sinatra gerät in Verdacht. Auch die reiche Erbin Raquel Welch (Kit) wird vom wahren Mörder, um den sie mit Todd rivalisiert hatte, in Verdacht gebracht. Sinatra entlarvt Steve Peck (Paul Mungar) und entschwindet mit Welch.

Sinatra als wenig profilierter Schauspieler und, unterstützt von Buch und Regie, mit dem unendlichen Bemühen, lässig und kühl zu sein. Warum man der Geschichte nur schwer folgen kann? Man verliert rasch das Interesse an ihr.

Todd’s flatmate Lainie Kazan (Maria Baretto) and her boss Frank Raiter (Danny Yale) are also murdered. Sinatra comes under suspicion. The wealthy heiress Raquel Welch (Kit) is also implicated by the real killer, with whom she had been rivalling Todd. Sinatra exposes Steve Peck (Paul Mungar) and disappears with Welch.

Sinatra, a relatively unknown actor, supported by the script and direction, makes an endless effort to appear cool and nonchalant. Why is the story so hard to follow? You quickly lose interest in it.
